Aim: - Wheat straw composting

Requirement: - wheat straw, sed net, rope, plex paper, sacker, stones, water, azolla, poultry manure, urea, worm compost.

Material: - shed machine, pipe.

Procedure: -We levied the area the and spread a Trane prefer mulching paper. We made 5 sections We chopped wheat straw (25kg) We made a shed out of bamboo and shed net.

How we make bed and sad

Because the sun’s UV rays should not reach there otherwise it will not decompose properly. we put gunny barge over the sections because the compost should be wet always.

Each section had 5kg of wheat straw.
1). We had 10kg azolla and 5kg wheat straw in the first section.

2). We had 2.5 kg poultry manure and 5kg wheat straw in the first section.

3). We had 5kg worm compost and 5kg wheat straw in the first section.

4). We had 2.5kg of urea 5kg wheat straw in the first section.

5). We had 5kg wheat straw in the first section.

 1). What is COMPOST?
Compost is organic matter that has been decomposed in a process called composting. This process recycles various organic materials otherwise regarded as waste products and produces a soil conditioner. Compost is rich in nutrients

2). what is poultry manure?

Poultry manure or chicken manure is the organic waste from poultry composed of mainly feces and urine of chickens. The mixture of poultry manure with spilled feed, feathers and bedding materials like wood shavings or sawdust is referred as poultry litter. Most poultry litters have a C:N ratio of between 6:1 to 25:1. Poultry litter with a C:N ratio of 25:1 to 30:1 is ideal for composting. Litter with a lower ratio should be blended or co-composted with materials such as sawdust, wood chips, and leaves that have a higher C:N ratio

3). what is azolla?

Azolla is a genus of seven species of aquatic ferns in the family Salviniaceae. They are extremely reduced in form and specialized, looking nothing like other typical ferns but more resembling duckweed or some mosses.

 4). what is urea?

Urea, also known as carbamide, is an organic compound with chemical formula CO(NH). This amide has two –NH groups joined by a carbonyl functional group.

  5). what is earthworm compost?

Worm composting is using worms to recycle food scraps and other organic material into a valuable soil amendment called vermicompost, or worm compost. Worms eat food scraps, which become compost as they pass through the worm's body.

6). why we are using wheat straw for composting?

mostly people burnt with stuff because it cannot have composed fatly so we will put this and see how fast the composting auk poultry manure, azolla, urea, earthworm compost we think this product this will help for composting.

 7). What is the C N ratio?

A carbon-to-nitrogen ratio (C/N ratio or C:N ratio) is a ratio of the mass of carbon to the mass of nitrogen in a substance. It can, amongst other things, be used in analyzing sediments and compost. Compost scientists have determined that the fastest way to produce fertile, sweet-smelling compost is to maintain a C:N ratio somewhere around 25 to 30 parts Carbons to 1-part Nitrogen, or 25-30:1. If the C:N ratio is too high (excess Carbon), decomposition slows down.

 8). what is Carbon?

Carbon is a chemical element with symbol C and atomic number 6. It is nonmetallic and tetravalent—making four electrons available to form covalent chemical bonds. It belongs to group 14 of the periodic table.

 9). What is nitrogen?

Nitrogen is a chemical element with symbol N and atomic number 7. It was first discovered and isolated by Scottish physician Daniel Rutherford in 1772.

We adjust C:N ratio of all

1. wheat straw 5 kg+ azolla 10 kg = C:N ratio = 70:1
2. wheat straw 5 kg+ poultry manure 2.5 kg = C:N ratio = 66:1
3.wheat straw 5 kg+ worm compost 5 kg = C:N ratio = 60:1
4.wheat straw 5 kg+ urea 2.5 kg = C:N ratio = 40:1
5. control 5 kg wheat straw

Daily work\Observation: - 1 day: - The next day we poured 5 list only in 1st sections because azolla contained water and 6 lit to the rest.

2 day: -The following day we poured 2 list of water for all 1st sections because azolla contained water.3 day: - we poured 2 list of water for all.

4 day: - we poured 1 list of water for 2,3 and 4 not for 1st azolla bed
